What is Add/drop period & The Withdrawal Policy?

Add/Drop Period is a deadline at the University, where you have time to drop your classes without any repercussions

  1. September 11-Drop deadline for 100% refund/adjustment of your money

The Withdrawal Policy states that Courses withdrawn after the Final Add/Drop deadline through the tenth week of the semester will be recorded as WD’s on your transcript. Dependent on when you drop your classes you can receive some/all/or none of your money back. After November 13 you will no longer be able to withdraw from a class.

  1. October 1-Withdrawal deadline 50% refund/adjustment of your money

  2. November 13-Withdrawal deadline no refund/adjustment of your money

In the event that you need to withdraw from a course, completing this action is important to insure that you won't receive a grade of "F" on your transcript.

Important: If you are a freshmen and you want to add or drop a class during your first semester, you need to reach out to your advisor in order to do so.

Also, if you have any holds on your account, you can STILL drop a course, you would just need to fill out the "Course Withdrawal Form" located on the Student Accounts Website.

Just like the Add/Drop Period, it is imperative to know all the important dates going on at the university. Scroll through the link below to see all the important dates coming up.

Why bring up GPA so early? It is important to know that some majors have a standard GPA that they require in order for you to stay in that certain major. The university also has a standard of a 2.0 GPA, that must be maintained for you to be in good standing. Make sure that you are aware of both your major and the university's GPA, and if you need any help, to seek out our tutorial services, free of charge to students on campus!
